AD/CV News: Line Pipe, Mattresses, Nails, PET Film, Pipes and Tubes, Pressure Washers, Xanthan Gum

The International Trade Administration and/or International Trade Commission have recently announced the following actions in antidumping and/or countervailing duty cases. Line pipe – dumping margins of 3.24 and 4.17 percent in amended final results of administrative review of welded line pipe from Korea for the period Dec. 1, 2020, through Nov. 30, 2021

Mattresses – initiation of AD injury investigations of mattresses from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Burma, India, Italy, Kosovo, Mexico, Philippines, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, and Taiwan, and CV injury investigation of mattresses from Indonesia, with the staff conference to be held Aug. 18 and briefs due by Aug. 23 (the preliminary injury vote has been scheduled for Sept. 8)

Nails – dumping margins of zero and 1.08 percent in preliminary results of administrative review of AD duty order on certain steel nails from Malaysia for the period July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022, and preliminary determination of no shipments with respect to four companies

PET film – dumping margins of zero for Jindal Poly Films Ltd. and SRF Limited in preliminary results of administrative review of AD duty order on polyethylene terephthalate film, sheet, and strip from India for the period July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022, and rescission of review with respect to six companies

Pipes and tubes – dumping margin of zero for NEXTEEL Co. Ltd. in preliminary results of administrative review of AD duty order on heavy walled rectangular welded carbon steel pipes and tubes from Korea for the period Sept. 1, 2021, through Aug. 31, 2022, and rescission of review with respect to two companies

Pressure washers – preliminary affirmative AD duty determination on gas powered pressure washers from China, new AD cash deposit requirement at rates of 252.71 and 263.83 percent, and preliminary affirmative determination of critical circumstances with respect to Jiangsu Jianghuai Engine Co. Ltd. and the China-wide entity

Scope rulings – applications filed in June for rulings on whether specific products are covered by the scope of the following AD/CV duty orders

- aluminum foil from China

- cased pencils from China

- certain carbon and alloy steel threaded rod from Taiwan

- common alloy aluminum sheet from Bahrain and China

Xanthan gum – dumping margins of 2.91, 4.76, and 36.92 percent in preliminary results of administrative review of AD duty order on xanthan gum from China for the period July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022, preliminary determination of no shipments with respect to two companies, and rescission of review with respect to one company
